Restricted Area – Guide & Policies

This guide explains the basic usage of the restricted area.
This platform has been developed to securely exchange geometry and other types of data files between the foamBuilder team and its customers, and vice versa. It can also be used as a storage space for project-specific files.
Each customer is associated with a dedicated user account, and each user can manage one or more projects.

  • Access to the Platform:

At the first login, users will be required to change their temporary password for security reasons. Accounts are activated upon first login.
Accounts not accessed within a certain period may be automatically removed.

  • Password Management:
If you forget your password, use the “Forgot Password” option. A temporary password will be sent to your email address. You will be required to change it at the next login.
  • Projects Overview:
Once authenticated, the user is redirected to the Dashboard page. After an initial header displaying the user’s information, the user can view the list and status of the assigned projects.
From this page, two main actions are available: updating user settings and logging out of the system.
By selecting a specific project from the list, the user is redirected to the corresponding project page, where files can be downloaded or new files can be uploaded.
Projects may have different statuses (pending, ongoing, closed) which determine the available actions.
Uploads are allowed only for active projects.
  • File Management:
Files can be uploaded to assigned projects. After each upload, a notification email is automatically sent.
All available files within a project can be downloaded.
  • Notifications:
Email notifications are automatically sent to users in the following cases: when new files are uploaded to a project, when a new project is assigned, and when a new user account is created.
  • Administrator Role:
The administrator can create users, assign projects and upload files.
